Alan. This is a great article. You give great statistics on which states permit healthcare providers to opt out. My questions is: How many healthcare providers have opted out? If the answer is none, I'm less likely to be concerned and advocate for changes in state laws.
It isn't always by statistics. In Washington it is at least 1/2 the facilities have opted out. I can try to find out provider percentages. Another issue is that there are states where abortion is legal but ALL providers have opted out!!! That one does not get a lot of attention.
