Current State - Advocate - Don’t Procrastinate
Teammates, today is a good day to think about advocating for better healthcare for all of us.
I want to share some data with you about why we have to be advocates.
I used to be a mathematician and so respect those who understand statistics and properly collect data and present it. The Gallup polling organization is one of those.
While looking for answers to a variety of questions I came upon these notes from their site about investigations they have done recently.
January 23, 2023 Majority in U.S. Still Say Gov't Should Ensure Healthcare
Results show 57% of Americans think everyone should have healthcare coverage (study)
GALLUP POLLING DATA
January 23, 2023 Majority in U.S. Still Say Gov't Should Ensure Healthcare
Results show 57% of Americans think everyone should have healthcare coverage (study)
June 2, 2022 Steady 58% of Americans Do Not Want Roe v. Wade Overturned (study)
Jan 19, 2023 For the first time in Gallup’s two-decade trend, less than half of Americans are complimentary about the quality of U.S. healthcare, with 48% rating it “excellent” or “good.” The slight majority now rate healthcare quality as subpar, including 31% saying it is “only fair” and 21% -- a new high -- calling it “poor.” (study)
Jan 17, 2023 Record High in U.S. Put Off Medical Care Due to Cost in 2022. 38% say they put off treatment, up 12 percentage points from 2021. 27% say medical treatment was for a very or somewhat serious condition. Lower-income, younger adults, women most likely to report delaying care. (study)
So, Americans are pro-choice (majority), don’t think the healthcare system is providing high quality care (majority) and put off care because it is too expensive (38%).
Houston we have a problem.
You already know the answer, it is Universal healthcare.

According to recent polls by Gallup 58% of Americans are PRO-Choice, 57% want everyone to have healthcare, 52% rate their healthcare as fair or worse, and 38% can’t afford to go to the doctor in 2022.
The data is calling for Universal Healthcare. I understand that Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal will be reintroducing her Universal healthcare bill shortly. I strongly support it and I want you to publicly support it as well. I am calling on you to take action. Thank you.
